Emma is outgoing, warm, and non-judgmental. She likes making people feel at ease from the very first session, and her honest approach means you’ll always get genuine, sustainable nutrition advice.

Background:

Emma Helmy, MS, RD, CDN, CPT, is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer based in New York City who offers private sessions and corporate seminars. She holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Columbia University’s Institute of Human Nutrition, where she graduated with Thesis Honors, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the American University of Beirut, where she earned the Penrose Award for undergraduate excellence.

Emma’s experience spans clinical nutrition, sports nutrition, research, academia, and fitness coaching, giving her a well-rounded perspective on health and wellness. Her graduate research focused on ultra-processed foods, energy balance, and metabolism, which she presented at an international conference in Denmark. She has also worked with competitive athletes at Columbia’s Teachers College, counseling them on performance nutrition and recovery. She has additionally completed advanced training in obesity prevention and treatment through Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medicine.

Fluent in English, French, and Arabic, Emma warmly welcomes clients from all backgrounds. Feel free to choose whichever language you feel comfortable with!

Emma’s goal is to help you build realistic, healthy habits that fit YOUR lifestyle and that you can sustain long term!

Personal Interests:

When she’s not upside down practicing handstands or training aerial arts, Emma is usually strength training, trying new workout classes around the city, exploring coffee shops and restaurants, walking around NYC, or reading a self-help or nutrition book.
