Background:

Ayla Gentiletti, RD, CDN, NSCA-CPT is a Registered Dietitian who earned her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Food Science with a Concentration in Dietetics from Montclair State University where she was awarded the Nutrition and Food Science Leadership Award. After graduation, Ayla spent a year working as a full-time personal trainer before moving to New York City to complete her dietetic internship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Here she provided supervised medical nutrition therapy for patients admitted to NYP sites, including academic, community, and behavioral health hospitals as well as a children’s center.

After becoming a Registered Dietitian, Ayla went on to work as a Clinical Dietitian at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx where she provided care to patients with wide variety of disease states and nutritional needs. Aside from seeing patients at NYNG, Ayla is also a consultant with a health startup company, providing personalized nutrition care to patients with type 2 diabetes.

Weight management (weight loss and weight gain), obesity, pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease/hypertension/heart health, GI disorders (gut health, IBS, Crohn's disease/ulcerative colitis, GERD), renal disease, dysphagia, oncology nutrition, vegan/vegetarian diets, tube feeding, general healthy eating, mindful eating, and improving patient’s relationship with food.

Ayla believes in personalization and customization to fit your needs. Everyone’s body is different - therefore there is no one-size-fits all nutrition plan for all. Ayla will use a science-based approach, taking into consideration your unique health history, preferences, and goals to develop the right plan for you. Ayla knows lasting changes are key. Rather than short-term solutions and crash diets, Ayla believes in incorporating sustainable lifestyle changes to achieve optimal health.

Ayla is the current President-Elect of the Greater New York Dietetic Association (GNYDA) and an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).  

Interests:

Ayla is an avid home-chef and collector of cookbooks. She loves all things food – especially a good pasta dish and considers dining out a hobby. Ayla prides herself on her houseplants which have survived several New York City moves. She enjoys singing and even performed onstage with the Grammy-award winning duo Sugarland. Ayla, a New Jersey native, also loves to spend time down the Jersey Shore her fiancé, Blake.
