Carolyn Leonard, RD, CDN
Carolyn is a Registered Dietitian and Certified in the state of New York. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition from Long Island University and is currently working on obtaining her Master’s Degree from Northwestern University. Carolyn gained extensive experience working with a wide variety of medical conditions while working at Columbia University Medical Center. She has successfully treated thousands of patients using her trained skills in nutrition therapy. Carolyn believes it’s important to practice what you preach and that a healthy life is a happy one.
Carolyn is skilled in nutrition counseling for a variety of conditions including Weight Management, Diabetes/Pre-Diabetes, GI Issues (SIBO, Crohn’s/Colitis, IBS, Reflux, Celiac), Heart Disease Prevention, Vegetarian/Vegan diets.
Carolyn believes that each individual is highly unique and requires different strategies to achieve long-term success. She will work with you to pinpoint your specific needs and tailor your nutrition plan using behavior modification techniques. Finally, she preaches that setting small goals is the most effective way to achieve big results.
She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Carolyn loves being outdoors and staying active. Her favorite thing to do is to try something new that challenges her both physically and mentally. While she may not be a pro everything she tries, she has fun doing it and values self-improvement. This is also rings true in her kitchen. Recipe development is one of her great interests, especially since she is always sharing new recipes with her clients.
